Machine Overview

Cyclone Separator & Dust Collector Cyclone Overview

Swastik Technology’s Cyclone Separator is a dust separation machine that uses spinning air, with no moving parts inside the body, to throw dust and light trash out of the air stream and into a hopper. Supplied as a Dust Collector Cyclone for plants that need to clean the air drawn off their machines, it is built as an Industrial Cyclone Separator for flour mills, seed plants and groundnut processors. Customers also know the range as a Cyclone Dust Collector or a Cyclone Separator Machine, and as a Cyclone Separator Manufacturer Swastik Technology fabricates each body, cone and outlet in its own workshop. Whether a plant needs a single Air Cyclone Separator beside one machine or a larger Industrial Dust Collector serving a complete cleaning line, size and air flow are selected for the crop and the dust it produces. It is designed to work as the collection end of our Ducting Line and beside our Peanut Pre Cleaner Machine on a complete line.

What Is a Cyclone Separator?

A Cyclone Separator is a tall, cone-shaped vessel into which dust-laden air is blown from the side, so that it spins around the inside wall. As the air spins, the heavier dust particles are thrown outward by centrifugal force, slide down the wall and fall into a hopper at the bottom, while the cleaner air turns and leaves through an outlet at the top. Because it works on air speed and spin alone, a well made Dust Collector Cyclone has no filter bags to replace in its main body, which is why it is a favourite in plants where dust loads are heavy and continuous.

In the trade the same machine is described in several ways, including Dust Separator Machine, Cyclone Dust Separator and Dust Extraction Cyclone. A cyclone is usually the first stage of a Dust Collection System, taking out the coarse and medium dust before the air goes to a fan or a finer filter, and because it cleans the air before release it is sometimes described as an Industrial Air Cleaner. Where hygiene is specified, a Food Grade Cyclone Separator uses suitable materials and smooth, cleanable internal surfaces for seed and food applications, while mild steel construction suits general grain duty.

How It Works

How Does a Dust Collector Cyclone Work?

1

Air Entry

Dust-laden air from the machines enters the upper body of the cyclone through a tangential inlet.

2

Spinning Flow

The shape of the body forces the air into a spinning flow along the inside wall.

3

Dust Separation

Centrifugal force throws the heavier dust and trash outward against the wall.

4

Collection

Separated dust slides down the cone and drops into the hopper at the bottom.

5

Clean Air Exit

Cleaner air turns upward and leaves through the central outlet at the top.

Machine Advantages

Key Features of Our Cyclone Separator

✓ A Dust Collector Cyclone has no moving parts in the separating body, so there is little to wear or maintain.
✓ High-efficiency design that removes coarse and medium dust and husk from the air.
✓ Sizing matched to your air flow, dust load and the machines it serves.
✓ Smooth internal surfaces that limit dust build-up on the wall.
✓ Rotary valve or hopper discharge for continuous or batch dust removal.
✓ Leak-tight joints and flanges that hold suction at the inlet.
✓ Strong welded construction for continuous, heavy-duty operation.
✓ Low pressure loss relative to the air volume handled.
✓ Easy inspection and clean-out access.
✓ Mild steel, galvanized or stainless steel construction depending on the application.
Uses

Applications of the Dust Collector Cyclone

Flour Mills & Rice Mills

Collects dust drawn from cleaners, polishers and bagging points.

Groundnut & Peanut Processing

Separates dust, soil and shell fragments drawn from pre cleaners, shellers and graders.

Seed Companies & Multiplication Farms

Keeps seed lines clean and dust-free by collecting dust at the source.

Oil Mills & Crushing Plants

Handles dust drawn from intake, cleaning and crushing stages.

Spice & Food Processing

Collects fine dust from grinding and packing areas.

Business Benefits

Benefits of Using a Cyclone Separator

✓

Removes dust from the exhaust air, keeping the plant and its surroundings cleaner.

✓

Takes the bulk of the dust load off finer filters, so they last longer.

✓

Has no moving parts in the body, so a Dust Collector Cyclone keeps maintenance effort and cost low.

✓

The Dust Collector Cyclone handles heavy, continuous dust loads without frequent stoppages.

✓

Protects fans and downstream equipment from dust wear.

✓

Collects dust in one place for easy disposal or reuse.

✓

Helps the plant keep floors, machines and products free of settled dust.

✓

Works without extra power inside the body, since the air does the work.
