Rotary Airlock Valve
A heavy duty Rotary Airlock Valve and Rotary Valve engineered for airtight, continuous material discharge from hoppers, cyclones, filters and silos into pneumatic conveying lines and processing equipment.

Rotary Airlock Valve & Rotary Valve Overview
Swastik Technology’s Rotary Airlock Valve is a precision-built discharge and metering device engineered to move powders, granules and bulk solids out of a hopper, cyclone, filter or silo while maintaining an airtight seal between the two sides of the equipment. Also referred to simply as a Rotary Valve or an Air Lock Valve, it uses a close-tolerance rotor turning inside a fixed housing to carry material from the inlet to the outlet in a continuous, controlled stream, without letting process air, dust or pressure escape through the discharge point. As an established Rotary Airlock Valve Manufacturer, Swastik Technology builds this range in cast iron and stainless steel construction, with drop-through and blow-through configurations, so plants can choose a design that matches their pressure differential, material abrasiveness and hygiene requirement. Flour mills, feed plants, cement and mineral processing units, chemical plants and pneumatic conveying systems rely on this equipment as the Rotary Airlock Feeder that keeps upstream and downstream pressure separated while product keeps moving. Whether a plant needs a compact Industrial Air Lock Valve for a single filter receiver or a Heavy Duty Rotary Valve engineered for continuous multi-shift operation under a cyclone, Swastik Technology matches rotor design, vane count and drive speed to the material and required throughput.

What Is a Rotary Airlock Valve?
A Rotary Airlock Valve is a mechanical metering device built to discharge bulk material from a hopper, bin, cyclone or filter housing while sealing against pressure or vacuum loss between the inlet and outlet sides of the equipment. Inside the housing, a rotor fitted with evenly spaced vanes turns at a controlled speed, and material falling in from the inlet fills the pockets between the vanes. As the rotor continues to turn, each pocket carries its load of material past the sealed housing wall and releases it through the outlet, so the valve behaves as a Rotary Discharge Valve as well as a pressure barrier. Because the rotor-to-housing clearance is held to a tight tolerance, this equipment, commonly called an Airlock Feeder, prevents air from short-circuiting between the pressurised and non-pressurised sides of the system, which protects fan performance, filter efficiency and overall process stability. Depending on the application, the same working principle is supplied as a Rotary Feeder Valve for gentle, low-pressure metering duty, or as an Industrial Rotary Valve built with hardened rotor tips and heavier bearings for abrasive or high-pressure material. Built specifically for continuous discharge duty, this machine remains one of the most dependable pieces of Bulk Material Handling Equipment used under cyclones, bag filters, dryers and storage silos across process industries.
How Does a Rotary Valve Work?
Material Inlet
Bulk material falls by gravity from the hopper, cyclone or filter into the inlet of the valve housing.
Pocket Filling
Vanes on the rotor form individual pockets that fill with material as they pass beneath the inlet opening.
Sealed Rotation
The rotor turns at a controlled speed, and the close clearance between rotor tip and housing keeps the inlet and outlet sides sealed against each other.
Material Discharge
Each pocket reaches the outlet and releases its load into the pneumatic conveying line or downstream process equipment.
Continuous Cycle
The rotor continues turning so material is metered out continuously while process air pressure stays isolated between both sides.
Key Features of Our Rotary Airlock Valve
Applications of the Rotary Airlock Valve
Pneumatic Conveying Systems
Feeds material into positive or negative pressure conveying lines while isolating the blower or fan from the feed hopper.
Cyclone & Bag Filter Discharge
Installed beneath cyclones and dust collectors as an Airlock Feeder to discharge collected dust without losing suction.
Flour Mills & Feed Plants
Meters flour, feed and grain by-products out of hoppers and bins onto downstream conveyors.
Cement & Minerals Processing
Used as a Heavy Duty Rotary Valve for cement, fly ash, lime and mineral powder discharge duty.
Chemical & Fertilizer Plants
Handles powders and granules as an Industrial Air Lock Valve suited to abrasive or corrosive material.
Dryer & Silo Discharge
Fitted under rotary dryers and storage silos to release dried product at a controlled, sealed rate.

Benefits of Using a Rotary Airlock Valve
Maintains pressure or vacuum separation so fans, filters and blowers keep working at rated efficiency.
Delivers continuous, metered material discharge instead of uncontrolled gravity dumping.
Reduces dust escape and product loss at cyclone, filter and silo discharge points.
Drop-through and blow-through options let one machine range cover different conveying layouts.
Compact housing footprint suits tight installation points under existing equipment.
Continuous duty design suited to plant and export terminal throughput.
Lower maintenance cost compared with manual or gravity-only discharge arrangements.
Configurable rotor type, seal design and capacity to match exact process requirements.
